The two main types of training are behavioral and obedience. Behavioral training is used to prevent and correct bad habits that your puppy or dog have or learning right now. There are many habits like jumping, car chasing, begging, climbing on furniture, and chewing that you may want to prevent from your dog to do. The most important to remember is you should be consistent during the process. For example, don’t let your puppy climb on the couch, otherwise you will have a full grown dog siting on the couch with you. This will confuse the dog, what will cause more problems in the further. If you will put the time to learn the dog’s natural behavior and satisfying the dogs natural instincts in addition to proper exercise will help you to communicate with your dog and this can make the difference between success and failure in training your dog.
How to Measure your Dog. A dogs coat size is measured from the base of the neck up to the base of the tail. Be sure that your dog is standing squarely on the ground with its head up to get an accurate measurement. Measure the dog from the base of the neck up to the end of the body while your dog is relaxed and looking ahead. It is better to order in even sizes that range from 8 inches to 28 inches. The size 13 inches is the only exception to this rule. If the tail of your dog goes up, round down. Also, if your dogs tail goes up, round up.
Golden Retrievers - Golden Retrievers are excellent for an outdoor lifestyle and with children. They too are family dogs and call for your attention as they are people pleasers by nature. Their coat is long and calls for brushing on a regular basis as well. They love to hunt and will bring you a reward as well. Golden retrievers are also a large breed weighing an average of 55 - 75 pounds.
