Terriers - Yorkshire terriers are a small breed weighing an average of 7 pounds. They are loyal lap dogs who love to be with their owners. This breed calls for little exercise as they are more appropriate for short walks and apartment type living. They do call for daily brushing, cleansing of the eyes and ears, and dental care in order to remain healthy.
Good News For Anyone Who Likes Little - Many prospective owners wonder what the appeal of petite pooches are and there are many. One of the most common is that that unlike their bigger counterparts small dog breeds are much less expensive to take care of. This doesn’t just mean in one area but all of them from veterinary bills to purchasing food. And of course accessories and toys are smaller in size and therefore less costly as well. The majority of breeds in this group also only need a tiny fraction of the amount of exercise that the larger ones do which allows owners to save time and make them an excellent choice for those who may be older or have a limited ability to exercise themselves.
The two main types of training are behavioral and obedience. Behavioral training is used to prevent and correct bad habits that your puppy or dog have or learning right now. There are many habits like jumping, car chasing, begging, climbing on furniture, and chewing that you may want to prevent from your dog to do. The most important to remember is you should be consistent during the process. For example, don’t let your puppy climb on the couch, otherwise you will have a full grown dog siting on the couch with you. This will confuse the dog, what will cause more problems in the further. If you will put the time to learn the dog’s natural behavior and satisfying the dogs natural instincts in addition to proper exercise will help you to communicate with your dog and this can make the difference between success and failure in training your dog.
